Turn Signal Usage

This is probably old meme but I still must say it. Use your fucking turn signals people. I don’t mean to make a turn either. When you’re at an intersection, it’s pretty obvious what you’re going to do. You’re either in a turn lane or you’re not and if you’re not, you’re turning your head a bunch, giving plenty of signs to read. Traffic is stopped and there is ample time to play guessing games. However, when you’re changing lanes, it’s *not* obvious what you’re doing. Traffic is moving. I want to see cops write tickets for people changing lanes without signaling, not for turning without signaling. The former is infinitely worse than the latter.

This has been a rant.

I got fitted for contacts this morning. It’s nice to be able to see for a change. I can’t wait to wear sunglasses again. I miss them tremendously.

In other good news, my student loan payment came out twice last month and broke the budget but thankfully, no payment is due this month so everything is pretty much back on track. Groceries here I come! ^_^

Fun Weekend

I had a pretty good weekend. Went to McCormick’s Creek but was sad to find out that the caves were closed due to a spreading bat sickness. Oh well it happens. I met one of Susan’s more important friends and she was nice, so that’s a plus. We had delicious onigiri, ramen, and curry pizza. ^_^ All together, a good weekend. Now…sleepy time.

Kung Fu, while it’s the most awesome and physically intensive thing I’ve ever done and I love it, hurts like a goddamn biotch sometimes. This massive ayass bruise is the result of conditioning:

The point is to desensitize our limbs so we’ll be tougher in a fight. Awesome. Still hurts like a biotch now though. This stuff is supposed to help though:

Windows 7 Command Line

Was it Windows 7 or was it Vista that changed the functionality of dir/w? /w, meaning wide, is supposed to present the results in a three column format so the user doesn’t have to scroll as much. This was especially relevant in the days when you couldn’t scroll in DOS and you had to use dir/w/p to pause the information as it came.

Unfortunately, dir/w now presents things in a single column, just stripped of the additional information that typically comes with dir. It’s essentially useless. This is arguably the nerdiest post I’ve ever made.
